Warping without Tears (or naughty words) with Laurie Duxbury January 21, 2012, 10am - 12pm, at Laurie's studio in Forest Lakes, Class fee is $10. Class size is limited to 10, so please email ASAP if you are interested. This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their ability to put on a smooth, worry-free warp—REALLY. We’ll go over the basics of calculating the required number of warp ends and warp length, measuring the warp, getting the warp from the board or mill to the loom, spreading the warp in the raddle and winding the warp on the back beam. The emphasis will be on efficiency and obtaining even tension. Students will be able to practice measuring on a board, on a mill, with a paddle, and by “picking the cross” a la Norman Kennedy. If you can't make it in January, or want more warping help, we're planning an expanded 4 hour warping class on February 25.
