Welcome to the Albemarle Handweavers Guild! Founded in January 2006, our mission is to provide a venue for the exchange of knowledge and ideas for handweavers in Central Virginia. We began with 22 charter members and have continued to add to our numbers ever since. Our members come from counties surrounding Charlottesville and represent all levels of weaving skill, from beginners through production weavers and weaving instructors. We meet the third Sunday of each month, at 1:30pm, generally at the Hollymead Fire Station just off Airport Road. Occasionally we visit members’ studios to learn about different loom styles and the way people incorporate weaving into their lives. We also take field trips to local venues of interest to weavers. We hold informational programs, study groups, classes, and workshops throughout the year, as well as social events. Annual dues are $25/Individual or $35/Family.
